#nprmeetup: Election Night 2012 at NPR HQ

On November 6, the NPR Social Media team hosted 31 bloggers, professionals, and journalists to experience election night in the Washington, DC office. Our guests came from all over the U.S. to blog, tweet, and even sketch the election results and reactions as they came in. Here's what we were up to:

  1. The confluence of laptops, smart phones, and tablets required quite a bit of power...
  2. That is a lot of cable to ensure that we're connected to the internet. Love the @npr IT green shirts. #nprmeetup http://pic.twitter.com/EBt9AiUq
  3. Power cord mashup. More than two dozen citizen journalists working at NPR HQ #nprlife #nprmeetup http://pic.twitter.com/4xGJZMPm
  4. some serious keyboard action in the #nprmeetup war room. Can feel the #blogger & social media intensity buil instagr.am/p/Rtix6qARo0/

  12. NPR calls Wisconsin for Obama, which puts him at 275. Race officially over. #nprmeetup
  13. New Hampshire goes all-female re: first congressional delegation, all women - US Senate, congressional reps and governor -awesome #nprmeetup
  14. The president calls for unity in his acceptance speech. "We are an American family and we rise or fall together as one nation." #nprmeetup
  15. We were luck enough to have Wendy MacNaughton in-house to sketch both the #nprmeetup crew and the NPR reporters/producers holding down the fort in Studio 4A:
