Leggings ban at Eastern Passage school

First we asked if the ban was fair, then the debate on leggings turned to jeggings—and at the end, a brazen admission from someone wearing leggings as pants RIGHT NOW.

  1. Banning leggings on Eastern Passage girls: discriminatory? (My vote: dumb) bit.ly/IdKIkM #news #education #gender #halifax
  2. @nealozano Horton High also bans them. I don't know how common a dress code issue it is… my kids' schools have LONG dress code lists
  3. @nealozano I wish they were banned back in the 90s in Wpg when my mom made me wear leggings and bell-bottoms were back in style.
  4. @nealozano Also, boys will be "distracted" with or without the leggings.
  5. @nealozano It's ok to ban leggings if they are see-through but banning anything because it's "distracting" is dumb
  6. @nealozano leggings are meant to go under something. My 6 yo wears the under a skirt or a dress for added warmth...not to be worn alone.
  7. @nealozano My catholic high school in Ottawa banned them last year - group them with tank tops and mini skirts.
  8. @mackaylc @OpenFileHFX @nealozano Same thing I was saying. Leggins alone are like wearing pantyhose, blurred,But we see what's there. TMI
  9. @nealozano leggings are meant to go under something. My 6 yo wears the under a skirt or a dress for added warmth...not to be worn alone.
  10. @jl_nicegirl @nealozano @jennhoegg @jannellevdb @mackaylc Been guilty of this on more than 1 occasion, but your ass should always be covered
