Dan Wheldon, two-time Indy 500 champion, posted Oct. 16, the day of the IndyCar World Championship: - After being involved in a collision in that race, Wheldon died of his injuries.
Clarence Clemons, longtime saxophone player for Bruce Springsteen, posted May 20: - He died of complications following a stroke on June 18.
Joan Elliott-Said, a k a Poly Styrene, singer and former frontwoman for the punk band X-Ray Spex, posted April 19: - She died of cancer on April 25.
Elizabeth Taylor, screen icon, posted Feb. 9: - She died on March 23.
Patrice O’Neal, comedian, posted Oct. 18: - (This is actually O’Neal’s second-to-last tweet; his final tweet, posted the same day, is on the same subject, but somewhat more profane.) Following complications from a stroke, O’Neal died on Nov. 29.
The rapper Heavy D's Twitter account was deactivated after his death, but his last tweet, posted Nov. 8, lives on through thousands of retweets, including the one below by Sean Combs: - After experiencing respiratory difficulties, Heavy D died later that same day.
