  2. Fitzroy Stars have lodged a transfer for Old Ivanhoe star ruckman HAYDEN HETA.

    Heta has been one of the premier ruckmen in subarban football over the past decade and joins the Stars to cover the loss of Clinton Edwards.

    The 34-year-old joins from Old Ivanhoe, where he booted 18 goals in 17 appearances last year in his return to the VAFA club.

    Heta won the 2007 Woodrow Medal as the VAFA Premier Division best and fairest and was co-captain of the VAFA representative team in 2009.

    A member of Old Ivanhoe's 2000-2009 Team of the Decade, he won a flag with the club in 2013, before returning to Wodonga in 2015. Heta was a member of Wodonga's 2001 premiership side.

  4. Epping midfielder THOMAS SULLIVAN looks set to depart the club after two seasons, with a return to Casterton Sandford currently pending.

    The left-footer joined the Blues from Katamatite in 2016 and didn't miss a match in his stint at Epping Recreation Reserve.

    A member of the 2016 grand final side, Sullivan finished fourth in the club's best and fairest last year.

    Sullivan has also played 48 senior games for Shepparton Swans and was a member of the Picola & District FNL representative side in 2015.

    Meanwhile, fellow Epping teammate GLEN WIDDICOMBE is returning to Therry Penola after one season in the blue and white.

    Widdicombe kicked 11 goals in 14 appearances last year and featured in both the semi final and preliminary final.

  5. FEBRUARY 15

  6. 2016 Division 2 Coaches Player of the Year THOMAS BLAKE has submitted a transfer to join Lower Plenty, however his first request has been denied by Panton Hill.

    The Bears had announced the signing of the 22-year-old big man in December.

    Blake has booted 55 goals in 65 games for Panton Hill since making his senior debut in 2014.

    He won the Redbacks best and fairest in 2016 and finished third last year.

  8. Former Northern Knights duo MAX DREHER and MATTHEW HARMAN look set to join West Preston-Lakeside for the 2018 season.

    Dreher (pictured below) was named in the Knights' best players in seven of his nine TAC Cup matches last year and represented Vic Metro against Vic Country at the 2017 AFL Under-18 National Championships.

    Harman was also named in Vic Metro's 39-man squad for the 2017 AFL Under-18 National Championships, but didn't feature during the tournament. The ruckman played 24 TAC Cup games for the Knights over the past two years and last year averaged 20 hitouts per game in his 16 matches, before finishing the season with a VFL debut for Northern Blues.

    Meanwhile, Coburg Districts JOSHUA SIMS has also lodged a clearance to join the Roosters. The 23-year-old has played 46 games for the EDFL Division 2 outfit over the past three years, including 16 during the 2017 season.

  10. FEBRUARY 14

  11. Heidelberg has submitted transfers for three players, including Vic Country representative CHRIS RYAN, North Shore ruckman JAKE THOMAS and former Murray Bushrangers representative TRENT WILLIAMSON.

    A versatile key position player, Ryan has played football at Tatura and Golden Square and also had a stint with Queensland outfit Labrador - where he was named second-best in the club's 2015 QAFL grand final win.

    The 27-year-old represented Vic Country in 2016 and 2017. He helped Vic Country to a 39-point win over Vic Metro at Mernda's Waterview Recreation Reserve in 2016 and was also part of the 2017 side that was well beaten by the VAFA.

    Thomas has previously played a handful of VFL games for Casey Scorpions and also featured for Gippsaland Power in the TAC Cup.

    The 22-year-old has spent the past two seasons with AFL Barwon club North Shore, where he has played 35 games. He has also booted 17 goals.

    19-year-old Williamson impressed for Wodonga in the Ovens & Murray Football League last year. He featured in the Bulldogs' best players in seven of his 16 senior appearances.
  12. Elsewhere in Meadows Greyhounds Division 1, Bundoora young gun JOSH IACOBACCIO will again spend the year with VFL outfit Coburg.

    The Lions today entered their permit for the 21-year-old, who has played 39 VFL games over the past three seasons.

    He was named among Coburg's best players in 8 of 15 games last year after being elevated to the club's leadership group in the summer.

  14. Kilmore lodges transfer paperwork for three players, including Lancefield's DANIEL REBBECHI and Bonnie Doon's ROBERT ROWE.

    25-year-old Rebbechi has played 80 games in the Riddell District Football League since 2011, including nine last year.

    Rowe has played 16 games in each of the past two Ovens & King Football League seasons.

    Elsewhere, Lalor midfielder TERENCE UPOKO will return to Craigieburn following a three-year stint with the Bloods. Upoko played 14 games in 2017 and a total of 29 after returning to Lalor Reserve from Craigeburn in 2015. He has previously played 23 games for the EDFL club.

  15. FEBRUARY 13

  16. Fremantle has submitted a clearance for Panton Hill midfielder SAM SWITKOWSKI.

    The 21-year-old was one of the surprise selections in last year's draft, with the Dockers snapping him up at pick No. 73.

    A star junior with the Research Junior Football Club, Switkowski won the Northern Knights best and fairest in 2014 and enjoyed an impressive Under-18 Championships for Vic Metro, but was overlooked in his draft season.

    Switkowski has since played 27 VFL games for the Hawks and a further 20 games in the Development League. In 2017 he kicked 19 goals in 12 VFL appearances.

    He also spent the past two year's on Panton Hill's list and appeared for the Redbacks in 2016.

  18. Thomastown has submitted a transfer for Officer's DYLAN CHAPMAN, however, the initial submission has been denied by the South East Football Netball League club.

    The 24-year-old has played 70 senior games since 2013 and was last year came in at No. 23 in the Pakenham Gazette's best players in the SENFL.

    A powerful ruckman, Chapman would be another welcome addition to the Bears, who have added strongly to their key position stocks this off-season.
  19. Meanwhile, Heidelberg West coach Gary Cutler tells NFNL.org.au anything less than a top-four finish would be a disappointment for his side in 2018.

    Cutler is confident his side can bounce back from the disappointing finish to 2017 and push further up the ladder this year.
