#SOPA Jokes

Today, lots of websites are in a self-imposed "blackout" to show what SOPA might do to the Internet if it passes. And on Twitter, tweeps have invented their own SOPA early-warning system. Check it out:

  1. NPR Social Media Senior Strategist Andy Carvin set things off:
  2. ███ and a ██████ walk into a bar... #sopajokes
  3. "█████ █████?" "Who's there?" "██ ████ ███ █ █████!!!" #sopajokes
  4. And thus a meme was born.
  5. What do you call it when ████ and ███ make a ███? A █████, of course. #sopajokes
  6. Finally an answer. Jimmy Hoffa, the ex-Teamsters boss, is buried █████ - after he was killed by ████ and ████████ #sopajokes
  7. My checking account number is ████████████. #SOPAjokes
  8. Well, it turns out that the meaning of life is ████████ and ███████. So obvious. #sopajokes
  9. The MPAA's taking to Twitter too, natch. Here are industry attempts to shame SOPA opponents:
  10. Twitter shutting down for SOPA? Thats just foolish, CEO says news.cnet.com/8301-13506_3-5… via @CNET #sopa
  11. The discussion over online piracy and the evils of #SOPA and #PIPA has gotten absurd wapo.st/xwbuoc
  12. Internet blackout against U.S. law fails to enlist big sites reut.rs/zSNESa via @reuters #sopa
  13. But the internet gets the last laugh:
  14. Yeah, I mean, what are Google and Wikipedia, anyway? #SOPA RT @MPAA: Internet blackout against U.S. law fails to enlist big sites
