- The tweet that started the backlash, sent by ASUS from Computex 2012. The tweet has since been deleted.
The rear looks pretty nice. So does the new Transformer AIO. #Computex2012 http://pic.twitter.com/ajafmuDk- The response:
How sexist is tech? From @ASUS PR: "The rear looks pretty nice. So does the new Transformer AIO. #Computex2012 http://pic.twitter.com/JN5M5o9I"- Sigh guess I won't be buying the new UX21 then. Thanks, @asus. twitter.com/ASUS/status/20…
New Sexist Level Unlocked: Expert RT @ASUS: The rear looks pretty nice. So does the new Transformer AIO. #Computex2012 http://pic.twitter.com/mrJKiVTz- Everyone should probably screenshot this really sexist @asus tweet before they delete it and claim they aren't sexist: tgsm.us/Lsw0DC
- I'd like to say that @ASUS just lost me as a customer for this (twitter.com/ASUS/status/20…), but including Windows 8 already lost me.
- Wow, ASUS poignantly shows why tech is an uphill battle for women: twitter.com/ASUS/status/20…
- ASUS apparently doesn't think women buy computers. Piggish in the extreme. RT @DrPizza This is absurd: twitter.com/ASUS/status/20…
- Later in the day, ASUS apologized.

Sir...Holy Crap, I didn't think it was possible for ASUS to get this any more wrong, but reading the statement from the social media manager, apparently it can. Sir, you need to understand that pride in one's work, and that includes spelling and grammar as well as avoiding sexist, and racist cliches, should be part of how you are evaluated in your work. If I were your manager, I would warn you that if it happened again, I'd fire you. This is pretty spectacular poor judgement on your part, and evidence of your immaturity that you cannot take the feedback and just let it be. I don't care if you're live tweeting an event, you have a responsibility to be a professional and to represent your company with style and grace, yes, even under pressure. That's what being a professional means. more2012-06-04T18:28:51.222Z
