#CafeBI in Durban - 8 Nov 2011
The AFSUG Business Intelligence Special Interest Group invite you to join us at the Italian coffee shop for a social conversation where we can all get linked in on the influence of social media on company intelligence. Start as a user group & you may just end up being friends. You may just like it!
Welcome To AfsugI would like to express my deep gratitude to you, your company and your Information professionals for your valued commitment to the Afric...- Cafe BI is a knowledge cafe. It is a format to engage a group in conversation and surface tacit knowledge.
Juanita Brown and David Brown are recognised as pioneers for the knowledge café movement. They formed the World Café in 1995 and define it as “a conversational process based on a set of integrated design principles that reveal a deeper living network pattern through which we co-evolve our collective future” (The World Café: www.theworldcafe.com).
David Gurteen says that a knowledge café brings a group of people together to have an open, creative conversation on a topic of mutual interest to surface their collective knowledge, to share ideas and to gain a deeper understanding of the issues involved. The conversation ultimately leads to action in the form of better decision making and innovation (www.gurteen.com). - Working with data often demands new thinking, new ways to visualize the information, and ideas on how to tell the information story. But where does good ideas come from?
- Charles will lead the conversation. We will pose questions for discussion and facilitate feedback to gather the collective knowledge.
- Cafe BI - the first conversation is underway. The question is two fold:What BI challenges are you facing in your organisation? What BI innovations are occurring in your company?(see the prezi for feedback)
