A recent sampling of Folkenflik's tweets

If you look at Fokenflik's tweets from Tuesday, you'll see how he used Twitter to construct a narrative about news surrounding comments that NPR's Ron Schiller made.

  1. Fmr NPR SVP for fundraising Ron Schiller caught on tape criticizing Tea Party & GOP as he lunched w fake prospective Muslim donors (more)
  2. Stunt by James O'Keefe; phony Muslim prospective donors attack Zionist coverage by media; Schiller demurs, saying no such bias at NPR (more)
  3. NPR announced March 3 Ron Schiller departing for Aspen Institute after just 18 mos. Videotape from Feb 22. (Not related to CEO V. Schiller)
  4. Link to hidden video of former NPR SVP Ron Schiller talking to phone prospective Muslim donor via @dallycaller bit.ly/dHfonz
  5. Fmr NPR fundraising exec Ron Schiller also says on tape NPR would be better without federal funding - but risk is stations would "go dark"
  6. Correction: Ron Schiller is not scheduled to start Aspen Institute job for another few months.
  7. .@TeresaKopec I believe Ron Schiller's start date at Aspen institute is April 1, via Current mag, which covers pub broadcasting.
  8. NPR, con't: "We are appalled by the comments made by Ron Schiller in the video, which are contrary to what NPR stands for."
  9. NPR, con't: "Mr. Schiller announced last week that he is leaving NPR for another job.” NPR also says Schiller surprised by today's tape....
  10. Therefore, according to NPR, departure of fundraising exec Ron Schiller for Aspen Inst. was unrelated to the sting by James O'Keefe.
  11. To be precise: the previously quoted statement was from Dana Davis Rehm, NPR's SVP for communications & external relations.
  12. curiouser & curiouser - the case of the NPR fundraiser & the undercover tapes from James o'keefe. My story on tonight's @npratc around 5.20p
  13. Update: My story on NPR's former SVP for fundraising & those videotapes from James O'Keefe will instead run at approx 5.50pm...
  14. NPR Should Get No More Taxpayer Funding: House GOP's Cantor n.pr/f8LpwE
  15. NPR CEO Vivian Schiller, in interview, on Ron Schiller's remarks: "In no way shape or form do they reflect what NPR does and who NPR is."
  16. More VSchiller: "I find it an affront to journalists we have working around the world, incl in hot spots. This is not what NPR stands for."
  17. NPR's fmr Senior VP for fundraising Ron Schiller was due to depart in May. He has been put on administrative leave, effective immediately.
  18. Tucker Carlson of @DailyCaller says R Schiller's remarks reveal him to be "sneering, arrogant, dismissive" of those he disagrees with.
  19. That said, Carlson said he contributes to his NPR station in Maine - "I like it and I listen to it a lot." He says federal funding is the Q.
  20. New statement from NPR's Dana Davis Rehm: "The elimination of federal funding would significantly damage public broadcasting as a whole."
