715 Restaurant's secrets behind social media
Wednesday, about 20 people joined together with Social Media Club of Lawrence to hear a lunch presentation from Matt Hyde, General Manager of 715 Restaurant in Lawrence, Kan. His industry insight into social media was refreshing and insightful. @calldrdave live tweeted his comments, which we've aggregated here.
- Matt believes that about 10 percent of his social media efforts are bringing in business. Currently they have 792 followers on Twitter and 1,379 fans on Facebook.
It was mentioned that 715 has become an example for other businesses on how to respond to both positive and negative reviews on sites such as Yelp, Lawrence Journal-World Marketplace, Foursquare, etc.
Matt understands they will make mistakes, they just want to try to make different mistakes. By keeping his staff in the loop he can help manage this.
On average Matt says they budget between $25-50 dollars a day for this and reaches nearby metro areas on the weekends to bring in the day trip business.
