Canada disqualified, loses Olympic bronze in 4x100-metre relay
Usain Bolt and Jamaica may have won the race (setting a world record in the process), but Canadians were more attuned to the disqualification of their team — and losing a bronze medal in the process — in the men's 4x100-metre relay. Here's what's flying on Twitter:
- As a fellow #Westminster country, I'm going to argue that #Canada should not be punished for toeing the line #Olympics #London2012
- still so proud of Canada this Olympics. sure others are faster but no one can measure up to our pride #getonourlevel
- USA tops #Olympics medal count. But tx to folks like @sincy12 @PaulaFindlay @adespatie and now @jncoolc Canada is tops for character & grit
- @jncoolc no need for sorry. Thanks for doing your best for #Canada and #PEI. #veryproudofyou #PEI #olympics #anotherdaywillcome
- Great run team Canada. Those lanes look pretty small to me. #stillproud #olympics
- Canada at the summer Olympics is like watching the @MapleLeafs on a regular basis....
