The Government Is Too Big, and the Sequester Is Not Enough

A twitter rant

  1. Good morning, twitter. Cut government spending at all levels and on everything.
  2. We have too many laws, and too many people in prison because of them.
  3. You can say, "They broke the law!", but you're breaking about six laws right now. There are so many laws you can't help it.
  4. If you want people to respect the law, respect laws by not passing so many.
  5. Cut government spending. Cut regulation. Free the people. Watch us prosper.
  6. We have tried to make society perfect by passing many laws. We have found it's a fool's errand.
  7. Not only do many laws not perfect society, but make it ever more imperfect and living in it unendurable.
  8. Our budget deficit this year is a projected $850B. We need run a surplus of $500B per year for 33 years to pay off our debt.
  9. We need to cut $1.3 trillion in spending THIS YEAR. The sequester doesn't cut anything, but merely doesn't increase spending by as much.
  10. The President fights tooth and nail to increase the budget by $1.3 trillion over ten years, instead of cutting it by that amount this year.
  11. If you're still arguing that the spending is all Bush's fault, why is the President fighting to increase spending even more?
  12. If a small decrease in the rate of increase in government spending will wreck the economy, then something is terribly wrong.
  13. Everyone's job is at risk. Everyone's organization has downturns. If you're in government arguing yours shouldn't, you need to get over it.
  14. During the Obama Depression, while America has suffered DC has been a boom town. They have sucked us dry.
  15. The bureaucrats and hangers on in DC have had their party. Now it's time for them to pay the band.
  16. Our government is too big, too bloated, and tries to control too much. Instead of looking to it, people should be looking to themselves.
  17. Americans can't look to themselves because the government has passed so many laws, rules, regulations, tax carveouts, and programs.
  18. Democrats in the Senate haven't produced a budget since April 4, 2009. That was before the first Tax Day Tea Parties.
  19. Cut the spending and the regulators can't bother us.
  20. The last time the Senate passed a budget, there was no such thing as Obamacare.
  21. How are they planning federal spending for the next 10 years when they haven't even had a budget for the last 4?
  22. The sequester is a joke, and the whining over letting it go through shows the unserious nature of Barack Obama.
  23. Our government exists to defend the liberty of the people, not to provide jobs for DC bureaucrats and hangers on.
  24. Do you want to justify government spending? Show how it defends freedom, or liberty, or the rights of the people.
