Irish voters hand ruling party historic defeatFianna Fail has more or less ruled Ireland since it formed its first Government in 1932. It has been in power continuously since 1997 and presided over Ireland's boom to catastrophic bust. Their vote collapsed Friday in an unprecedented show of electoral anger in Ireland. Anger at a party that couldn't, or wouldn't, see that the so-called Celtic Tiger was a Celtic Myth. Instead of riots, the Irish voiced their anger at the polling stations.
