Classroom 2.0

Inverted Classroom, Hybrid Pedagogy, Digital Pedgagogy, Distance Learning, Embodied Learning: notes from the media-enabled classrooms of the now.

  1. I've spent some time reflecting on what I've done w/ social media that works and that doesn't work, & now dedicate myself to sharing clues
  2. @hrheingold to much online learning follows the "digital facelift" model, do what has always been done just do it online
  3. @academicdave Told that co-learners can discover unique ways to learn together online they always do. Show example, then shut up & listen.
  4. @hrheingold I think that's they key, not trying to reproduce the in-class experience, but rather find what can be done online
  5. Some kinds of online learning accomplish things blended or strictly ftf learning can't. Like simultaneous participation fm Korea, Brazil
  6. The purely online class can have its own special kind of magic. Group mindmapping on a whiteboard by ppl all over the world, for example
  7. @rachelannyes Thanks, Rachel. There's real magic to it. As you experienced, though, group whiteboard mindmapping also has limitations.
  8. Facing a room full of physically co-present learners for hours each week is still a formidable, unpredictable, thrilling experience.
