The Stock Act and Economics of The Election

Scott Brown's STOCK Act, which proposes a ban on Congressional insider trading, passed the Senate 93 to 2. His Democratic opponent in the election this fall Elizabeth Warren agrees with the legislation, but wishes it included a ban on representatives owning stock in companies in their jurisdiction.

  1. The legislation is also leading to an increased debate over where both candidates stand in regards to their economic stances, for example conservatives have attacked Elizabeth Warren on her stance as the champion of the middle class.
  2. Elizabeth Warren vehemently denies being part of "the 1%" despite her $15M net worth. See, The Rich are evil only when they're Republicans.
  3. Warren never said she wasn’t rich, she said she wasn’t a wealthy individual with a big stock portfolio bit.ly/xHKog6 #masen #mapoli
  4. Elizabeth Warren took $44,000 helping insurance companies avoid paying asbestos victims... bit.ly/wa6jgk #MASEN
  5. At the same time, Elizabeth Warren supporters have been hammering Scott Brown for being against The Buffett Rule, which would require millionaires to pay at least 30% on their taxes, to avoid situations like Mitt Romney only paying 13.9% on his.
  6. MT @ThePlumLineGS: Elizabeth Warren hammers Scott Brown over Buffett Rule, ties him directly to Romney's wealth wapo.st/A6rsYi #mapoli
