  2. I get that I'm naive and a bit of a pacifist, but I just wish people could respect others differences. Pope jokes are just rude. #notcool
  3. So the Pope is resigning. People need to cut it out with the rude jokes. It's not cool to make fun of an old man. #growuptwitter
  4. Twitter often at its worst at times like this. 95 percent of the pope jokes just not funny. But everyone feels they have to make quip.
  5. True to Twitter, the Pope's resignation is met first with shock, surprise, then every rude, snarky, and disrespectful comment possible.
  6. It is shame how some people are turning the Pope resigning into a joke. It is rude. Respect is something my generation seems to lack.

  8. Not to be rude but the Pope just a man, not like God is retiring! Enough already!
  9. okay, guys. you can stop with the Pope jokes now. it's not funny.
  10. All the "pope is resigning" jokes have been written. Please stop. It's not personal, we all feel this way.

  12. Some tweeting “Pope Benedict XVI jokes don’t offend Christians”. Tell them “Virgin Mary” jokes and then see the reaction.
