Manhunt on for robber who shot Chino cop
Law enforcement officials continue to search for a man who shot and wounded a police officer on Wednesday after robbing a bank in Chino.
- A man clad in body armor, including a bullet-proof vest, and carrying an assault rifle entered California Bank and Trust at 5455 Riverside Drive about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday.
- The man was able to get money from the bank tellers and then went outside where he was spotted by a Chino police officer. At least four shots were fired, including one that wounded the officer. The robber was able to flee the scene.

Michael Armijo, 48, of Eastvale said he saw a police car pull up to the medical center and the officer opened the door and started screaming, "Help me, help me, I've been hit." Armijo ran to the car to assist the officer while another witness went to get a doctor.
- The officer survived the shooting and is in stable condition.
Chino Valley Unified School District placed Anna Borba Elementary School, Walnut Avenue Elementary School and Chino High School on lockdown in response to the shooting.

Ontario and Upland police officers, San Bernardino County sheriff's deputies as well as officials from the FBI and California Highway Patrol responded to the bank and started a manhunt for the gunman.
