Food Security and Nutrition
President Obama spoke on Friday, May 18 about the critical need for long-term food security. He announced a New Alliance for Food Security and Nutrition, focused on mobilizing private capital, speeding up innovation, managing the risks of changing food prices and climate, and nutrition.

Farmers use the extra cash from the traders to purchase additional seeds and other agricultural inputs and processing equipment, which in turn increases their yields and income for their families and communities.
