What's the most important thing you learned in journalism school?

  1. No one cares about your literature degree & fancy vocabulary. MT @jaclyndesforges: What's the most important thing you learned in j-school?
  2. .@jaclyndesforges - The importance of building & maintaining relationships with contacts/sources. How to write concise, focused articles.
  3. @jaclyndesforges I'm horrible at quick responses on Twitter! But to answer your Q, probably editing - chop, chop off all that's unnecessary.
  4. @jaclyndesforges 1 Get off your ass and go get it. 2 Don't be afraid to talk to people. It doesn't matter if it goes badly.
  5. @jaclyndesforges hanging out at the office is nice, but it's not going to get you anywhere. Nor will fearing a crowd of mean/sad strangers.
