Apple Retail 10th Anniversary - new product launch?

In short: Not a chance.

  1. Earlier today, the often-unreliable (when it comes to Apple) Boy Genius reported on a potential product launch this weekend:
  2. Jim Dalrymple, best described as "connected", thinks otherwise:
  3. Sure, it’s been 10 years for Apple, but the company rarely celebrates any anniversary. That’s not to say that the Internet and Web sites don’t reflect on what Apple has done over the years, but Apple has always looked ahead, not back. Besides the fact that a product launch on a Thursday, a few weeks before WWDC doesn’t make any sense at all, Apple is not going to release something to celebrate its retail anniversary, because they don’t do that. Besides, most of Apple’s Mac products were recent
  4. As far as I'm concerned, that means "case closed".
  5. And, once the event was done, BGR didn't exactly back down: it cheekily claimed that "we all knew something was up". Lame.
