The 50 million lost jobs - ILO expert offers answers
It’s a staggering figure; globally, 50 million jobs have been lost. On top of that, 75 million young people can't find work.
- According to the International Labour Organisation (ILO), fiscal austerity and tough labour market reforms are part of the problem. And the ILO is warning that high unemployment and growing social inequality is likely to fuel unrest around the world.Raymond Torres, the director of The International Institute for Labour Studies - the research arm of the ILO - says these two factors are limiting job creation.
