Obama and Cristina. Their relationship
Relationship between presidents of Argentina, Cristina Kirchner, and U.S., Barak Obama, has had ups and downs. They've only held 2 meetings since taking office: at Washington Nuclear Security Summit, April 2010; and November 2011, at G20 summit in Cannes.
- This time, Obama called the meeting.
Before, there were times when the relationship between the two leaders was, although cordial, sometimes uncomfortable. (Watch this video called "The greeting that was not", taken at the London G20 Summint, in 2009.)
And in other times they seemed lifelong friends.
But the two sides of the worst of both government relationship occurred this year:
- 1st) when the Argentine government seized American military hardware that arrived by plane to Buenos Aires;

- Finally, it was the American president who took the initiative and requested a meeting with the re-elected President of Argentina.

Apparently, the change of position is because 3 months ago Argentina returned the items seized from military aircraft.
Should also be taken into account the overwhelming presidential reelection of Cristina Kirchner, with 54% of the votes.
