- @daringfireball nice first-world observation, but I’ve yet to find a large (medical) congress venue with anything else but VGA cables…
- I get @gruber’s point (daringfireball.net/linked/2012/06…), but in many places (like most K-12 classrooms), if there’s a projector at all, it’s VGA-only.
- I actually wish my MacBook did have a VGA port. The dongle is a pain in the IO port. daringfireball.net/linked/2012/06… /via @gruber
- @daringfireball @gruber Sadly this likely to satisfy enterprise level contracts which require VGA. But VGA is officially dead in 3 years.

Can't even count all the times both at university and in industry meetings where I've seen folks scrambling before a presentation, trying to find a VGA adapter. Sell an adapter? That's something you do for FRINGE scenarios. more2012-06-08T16:06:47.727Z

Just last week I purchased a MiniDisplayPort to HDMI adapter to use on the Thunderbolt port for my MacBook Air. Despite the $29.99 cost, that is much more convenient for the times I can't use Home Sharing or AirPlay. For one thing, an MBP is truly a portable computer.more2012-06-08T02:14:28.933Z

jameskatt@gruber is correct. Mini-displayports should have been provided by the laptop. Then all one needs to bring are VGA, DVI and HDMI adapters. Some venues - such as...@gruber is correct.
