Second Green-Win Dialogue Workshop

During two days in February 2017, the researchers from the Green-Win Project met with entrepreneurs, investors and civil society activists in order to examine a set of cases that pursue climatic and economic goals simultaneously.

  1. We started the workshop by looking at results from the first dialogue workshop that was held last year. This was presented by Jill Jäger. Then Jochen Hinkel, the coordinator of Green-Win, presented the scope and objectives of the project. We also had a peek into the activities of work-package 4, which is defining and evaluating green business models and win-win solutions. These two concepts are central to the project activities and were introduced by Frank Meissner (IASS).
  2. We split into 5 working-groups to scrutinize a set of win-win solutions on energy, rural solutions, urban solutions, green business models and finance leveraging.
  3. The win-win solutions were first presented by the participants and were then examined thouroughly in terms of their stage of development, their strength, the opportunities they create (co-benefits), their weaknesses and the threats they face. We also discussed the enabling factors that would help to scale-out (replicate, disseminate or grow) or scale-up the solution. Finally, the funding possibilities were investigated.
