Destination Local - social media campaigns for hyperlocal publishers

As part of Nesta's Destination Local Action Research in Audience Analytics project, we're running a series of Twitter hours. This, our fourth and final, explored digital identity, and how hyperlocal publishers can create social impact through social media campaigns.

  1. Abhay was next to ask a question to the audience re. mobile-first. On The Wight is certainly one hyperlocal media service that understands the importance of mobile, especially in regards to chat apps.
  2. The conversation then moved on to Portsmouth hyperlocal service Star & Crescent and their recent, highly successful, social media campaign (that they implimented as part of the Destination Local project).
  3. Twitter user and 'sensory design' workshop facilitator Alastair Somerville raised the idea of online and physical places working together.
