Olympic Torch Relay in Reading

Make sure you arrive early to get a good view of the Olympic Flame’s as it leaves Reading this morning.
The relay set off from Caversham Court Gardens just after 8am heading towards the town centre.
The torch made its way along the riverside footpath in Christchurch Meadows to Reading Bridge and into town through Town Hall Square, Market Place, Broad Street and St Mary's Butts.
It will be carried southwards along Silver Street and Basingstoke Road before entering Northumberland Avenue and along to Hartland Road between about 8.45am and 9.10am.
A vehicle will take the torch to Castle Hill, where Reading runners will resume the route.
The relay will continue along Bath Road up to Charrington Road, in Calcot, where it will be driven to Theale and later Thatcham for its journey to Salisbury
