Librarian Jazz

Twitter conversations from the class "From Memex to YouTube: Introduction to new Media Studies" during the fall 2009 and fall 2010 semesters at Baylor University.

  1. This conversation about learning C programming in order to develop an iPhone app for the student's final project took place over Twitter, email and the student's blog.
  2. @ehampton Do you think you could find some resources pertaining to iPhone/iTouch app dev? Thanks in advance!
  3. @eriXnet are you looking for technical specs or something else?
  4. @eriXnet Yes, absolutely, I've found a couple of good things. Direct message me your email and I'll send you links.
  5. @ehampton Would you happen to know if the library has this book available? Digital version is not fun to read... bit.ly/2ZXudZ
  6. The postscript in his subsequent blog post said this:

"P.S. A special thanks to my E-Librarian for the jumpstart of resources she provided me with! I would be completely lost without her help!"
  7. This conversation took place during a class period when the students were discussing a short story by Clifford D. Simak. I had not gotten an advanced copy of the story, so I began to search out anything I could find about the author.  The tweets, however, took a slightly different turn.
  8. @thdrummer Oh, you mean his archive? Letters and papers and such?
  9. @thdrummer If it's archives you're after, yes, Harvard has his papers, and Penn State has a small collection and the Swiss Nat. archive does
  10. This conversation that took place on the day the students discussed the movie Waking Life and the concept of "lucid dreaming."  I was told by Dr. Campbell after the class that when the student got the tweet about the book, she almost jumped out of her chair, she was so excited.
  11. i never knew there was a name for this! crazyyyy, thought it was just me. #nmsf09
