Lands End To John o'Groats the Vodafone #FreeBees Challenge
After being asked what I would do with the free bolt-ons offered when you upgrade a new Pay as You Go SIM from Vodafone, I foolishly said I'd digitally busk my way up Great Britain. In exchange for a lift, food or a bed for the night, I would offer the free data, calls and texts available from one of five PAYG £10 SIMS.
- The trip was only confirmed during a phone call I took on the Thursday. 2 days before I was to make my way down to Lands End.I quickly drafted a blog to alert friends and contact in my network. after all I had a feeling I would be relying quite a lot on their kindness and generosity.

The Vodafone Freebees Challenge – How far can a Freebee take you? - Vodafone eForumThe Vodafone Freebees Challenge – How far can a Freebee take you?:- The tweets of support came thick and fast. Too many to link here but here are a few of the initial responses.

- With Dave's mashup in place and also @RichardMackney's map and data filters on http://FreeBees.me I felt the journey had taken on a whole new visual slant for those watching remotely.
- As well as waking to find some people had been busy, I also saw that some of the really busy even had time to ReTweet..
- The offers for help kept coming in but i soon realised I had no idea of a route and at some point I would need to throw some kit into a bag.
