Back and forth on public sector sick leave

Twitter was lighting up today after revelations emerged that federal public sector workers claim for more paid sick leave than workers anywhere else and that the generous sick leave provisions in their contracts cost Canadian taxpayers about $1 billion a year.

  3. And here's David Pearson, who describes himself at his Twitter profile as "a proud unionized Canadian worker" from Lethbridge, AB (presumably he's the David D Pearson who is a Greenhouse Person at an Agriculture Canada facility in the southern Alberta city) chips back:

  5. And that provoked this response from Tony Clement, the President of the Treasury Board, and the cabinet member responsible for managing the public service.

  8. @TonyclementCPC @CFIB When I worked at Health, guy set to retire had over one year in banked sick days. He was quite proud. I was disgusted.
