- .@datelinenbc #Dateline Is @dateline_keith as dreamy in person as he is on my television?
- Yes, yes he is. In fact, he is particularly dreamy in his stand-ups in tonight's broadcast (we're biased).

- @datelinenbc ask Keith Morrison NOT to retire anytime soon! How long does it take to learn a story for him to make it so interesting!!
- Don't worry, he's not going anywhere!
- The man in black, Keith Morrison is back for an all new Dateline this Friday. Who don't love K.M.? #TeamKeith.
- Nobody. There's nobody who doesn't love Keith (ok fine, we're biased)
The music in the stories themselves is chosen by the producers and editors of each story. Once the title animation is created, our post production team listens to dozens of songs and cuts of music to see which works best with the animation and mood of the story. Then they take a vote. MAJORITY RULES! (answer via @whatsername4 @susannalle @MKBlum of the post production team!)
- @datelinenbc ... who decides who gets which assignments ??? is there a criteria??? seniority??? special skills???
- Many of you asked, how do we select our stories? We have a daily "Story Meeting" to discuss potential story ideas. We all read a TON of newspapers from across the country, watch the news constantly, read viewers emails (send your ideas to our Story Editor! [email protected]), and talk to our sources to find new ideas.
The man in the plaid in the photo below is Jeff-- he comes in FIRST every morning, watches the news (on every channel!), combs dozens of newspapers and Web sites looking for stories, and then tell us what he found! Thanks Jeff!
How do we select #Dateline stories? We read tons of newspapers, watch news constantly, submit pitches, and have a daily Story Meeting to discuss them allIt really depends on the story. If we ever feel the need for security, we ALWAYS ask and bring them along. Here's a story from @MasonScherer and Sergei of a time when they traveled alone:
SO yes, sometimes it's scary.
Sergei and I were doing some POV (that's Dateline talk for Point Of View) driving shots at night, close to a suspect's home. We decided to drive by in order to get a look at the house, and as we slowed down to pull a U-Turn in the driveway next to the property, the suspect's brother came out to the porch and stared at the car. Although there was never a particular threat, we were spooked a little due to the sensitive nature of the case and the tension the family must have felt immediately following conviction of their brother, so we pulled out quickly and drove away.- We love his voice, too... but the closest Keith has come to doing a book on tape is this:
- We actually don't have "RESEARCHERS" by title. Everyone contributes to this process.
- We are. We are having SO MUCH FUN. Seriously. We're also having SO MUCH FUN doing this behind the scenes for you. (answer via @JarredHill and @CarlySegal... we are ALWAYS having fun.)

Did you find this story interesting? like or comment as 2 already did!

I tried to find a "contact us" link but it kept redirecting me back to "About us" and back and forth. My question is regarding "Written in Blood" with Lester Holt. At the beginning of the episode he says to pay close attention to the pizza receipt on the counter...that it plays into the overall story. At the end of the episode I did not see any mention whatsoever of the pizza receipt and it is really bugging me lol. Help?? thx.more2012-08-25T21:47:18.395Z
