Formula SAE Racing Team Mechanical Engineering Students Rev Up for Competition

Follow Cal State Fullerton mechanical engineering students Formula SAE racing team as they compete in the the Formula SAE June 20-23 at Lincoln Airpark in Lincoln, Neb.

  1. UPDATE: CSUF F-SAE Titan V: Triumph and Setback The CSUF F-SAE Titan V passed all static technical inspections and progressed to the dynamic events at the 2012 Formula SAE West competing against 84 other national and international collegiate design teams. In each competition category, CSUF F-SAE Titan V out performed last year’s Titan IV. · Acceleration Event Results - 10th · Autocross Event Results - 20th · Cost Event Results - 26th · Presentation Event Results - 33rd · Design Event Results - 37th · Skidpad Event - 39th Fifty of the 84 teams progressed to the grueling Endurance Event. While speeding toward completion of Saturday’s Endurance Course, Titan V experienced a part failure within the drivetrain. The competition's higher than average attrition rate was attributed to the rough concrete course, with over half the entries making it to endurance suffering similar drivetrain or suspension failures. Only 24 of the 50 eligible teams completed the endurance event.
