1. Love my patients, so much that it breaks my heart but to be honest sometime true love means walking away.
  2. I love the NHS and I love the fact that the NHS gave me the opportunity to help some people in their darkest hours.
  3. However I am a human, not a compassion factory. I love every single person that I have ever met. I would move mountains for a stranger.
  4. My compassion comes from my humanity, it is not a free running tap.
  5. That would be me, and the loved ones who allow me to vent.
  6. I love my patients too much to risk them. If I burn out I become harmful. I would never allow that to happen.
  7. If I say that the last 13 years saved lives innumerable I don't think that is being bold or pompous, merely honest.
  8. Unwillingness to bloody my hands, over-worked, understaffed mental health services. Is my moral ground. And I stand it with rod and staff.
  9. This is a time when the whole of society is under never before heard of pressure and to sever the lifeline of support at this time.
  10. Vile, criminal, unforgivable and I beg your forgiveness for my choice to walk away.
  11. We take for advantage that if will slip and fall that someone will plaster our bones and stitch our cuts.
  12. We neglect those who help heal the psychological scars. I know, psychiatry has always been the Cinderella service, but where is the ball?
  13. I dare not think, the number of unpaid hours I have worked, not due to staff pressure, but personal, moral obligation. I can't walk away.
  14. I am a dyslexic, disorganised to the utter core of me. But would diligently complete assessments even if it took until 4am.
  15. There is a limit though, and if I give my all and you ask for more..
  16. If you cut me and there is no blood left? Then what is it that you want?
  17. I would never let myself get to the point of what is professionally titled.. (Wait for it)...
  18. Compassion fatigue! However, when you try to convert a care-giving institution the size of the Red Army into a business, some things break.
  19. I make no apologies for my humanity, it is what made me the nurse I am proud of having been.
