The Beginnings of #ETMOOC

Making the process open & transparent.

  1. While in the back of a mini-van, somewhere between Medicine Hat & Brooks, Alberta, I decided to gather interest around the development/facilitation of an Educational Technology MOOC to be offered starting January 2013. I tweeted this:
  2. So, I'm thinking about running an #edtech MOOC starting January. Anyone interested in facilitating and/or enrolling? educationaltechnology.ca/couros/2116
  3. I soon received a number of responses from those either willing to help in the development, planning & facilitation, along with a number of people who indicated interest in participating in the course. The majority of responses are found below (I've excluded a few of my repetitive replies).
  4. @courosa My colleague @rlmeeder just finished her PhD and is looking for online teaching experience. I volunteer her to help ;)
  5. @courosa I'd be happy to do both, let me know any and all details. Would love to do a section on domain of one's own and aggregation.
  6. @courosa would live to be part of it as a student or perhaps as a facilitator!
  7. @courosa Interested, but know I wouldn't have enough time. :(
  8. @courosa I maybe volunteered her and then hollered over the cubicle to check Twitter ;)
  9. @jimgroom Those are the details so far (writing this in the back of a minivan on family holidays). I would love you to be part of this.
  10. @courosa well that sounds fitting with some other stuff we talked about. Interested. @davecormier @gsiemens @jilliannec
  11. @courosa i'd love to participate, facilitate, enroll, promote, whatever… esp re: what educators should know about ed-tech companies
  12. @courosa keep me posted as the concept develops. If I can facilitate I’d be happy to. Otherwise I’d love to enroll. Maybe both?
  13. @courosa I would be interested in enrolling for sure...possible helping facilitate, what would the facilitating require?
  14. I wld definitely pop in @courosa - wldl it be thru BlackBoard? I LOVED each session I was able 2 "lurk" in when @tmemann was in your class!
  15. @courosa huh. interesting. and by then I'll have (hopefully) finished my MSc and defended, so I'll have slightly more time...
  16. @courosa Interesting idea. I'm thinking lately about how the design of learning objects affects the learning that occurs. Would that fit?
