1. The hip-hop star died Monday at a South Carolina hospital after suffering heart failure, the Daily News reported.

    Mack was best known for his 1994 single, "Flava in Ya Ear." A remix of the popular song featured a verse from The Notorious BIG.

    Mack's first album, "Project: Funk Da World," was released in September 1994 on Sean "Diddy" Combs' Bad Boy Records. According to UPROXX, the album "ultimately peaked at No. 21 on the Billboard 200 and No. 6 on Billboard‘s US R&B charts and certified gold by the RIAA." He released a second album, "Operation: Get Down," in 1997.

    Producer Alvin Toney, producer of Mack's debut album, told the Daily News that Mack "was prepared for whatever comes, to go home to the Lord."

    "He wasn't scared," Toney added. "He was ready."
