1. WWJ reported that three people were injured in the explosion, which officials characterize as minor. One person was hospitalized with minor burns and other minor injuries, according to the Detroit Free Press.

  4. A General Motors spokesperson told WWJ that "employees (in the paint shop) were adding pressure to a valve when the lid popped and workers were struck by flying debris."
  5. General Motors employs about 1,800 employees at the Detroit-Hamtramck plant, according to the Free Press. The Buick LaCrosse, Cadillac CT6, Chevrolet Volt and Chevrolet Impala are manufactured there.
