1. At least one other person was killed and one other injured, according to the Courier Journal and WDRB. The injured officer, who authorities did not immediately identify, is expected to survive, WDRB reported.
  2. David James, president of the Louisville Metro Council, told WDRB that the officer works as a narcotics detective. The officer's head was "grazed" by a bullet, James told The Courier Journal.
  3. The shooting happened as undercover officers were conducting a narcotics investigation around 1:50 p.m. local time, near the intersection of Bardstown Road and Fegenbush Lane, WAVE reported. According to the news station, the person killed Thursday was a suspect in the narcotics investigation, as was a second person who was injured.
