  5. The phone doesn't have a home button, and will unlock through a facial recognition system called Face ID, "the future of how to unlock our smartphones and protect our sensitive information," Apple's Phil Schiller said.
  6. Face ID will work with Apple Pay and with multiple apps, Schiller said.
  7. Sep 12, 2017 2:19 PM EDT: The iPhone 8, which Apple CEO Tim Cook called a "huge step forward for iPhone," was unveiled alongside the iPhone 8 Plus on Tuesday. It comes in three colors, including Apple's signature space gray, and is waterproof.

  12. Update Sep 12, 2017 1:32 PM EDT: Officials unveiled Apple Watch Series 3, which will have built in cellular capabilities and be able to store 40 million songs. Apple boasted that the watch will be faster than ever -- 70 percent faster than before -- and will give Siri the ability to talk through the watch.
  13. The Series 3 watch will be available to buy on Sept. 15, starting at $329, and ships starting Sept. 22.
