iPad 3 is seeing red or blue, depending

I posted some comparison shots of the iPad 2 and 3 displays at various brightness levels, then claimed that colors on the 3 seem a little cool. This is my story.

  1. The colors on my iPad 3's display seem a little cool. Does anyone else see this? tmblr.co/ZelxbyI6c4Sm
  2. @chartier Yes, but I think I'd call it dark and warm. It looks redder, doesn't it? Kind of uncomfortably red.
  3. @joelhousman @chartier yes. There's a difference. Notice the orange link. New iPad on right. iPad 2 on left. http://pic.twitter.com/Pnnop4Rw
  4. @chartier I noticed the same thing too. iPad 2 beside iPad 3. Set the brightness levels identical. I notice a color difference.
  5. @chartier I like that yours seems cool and others are having the usual yellowness problem.
  6. @chartier I'm noticing a very faint but persistent greenish cast. Wish one could calibrate the iPad using one of the devices on the market.
  7. @chartier maybe Apple will change? After all it's supposed to be 44 percent more saturated, not cooler.
