Creekview Graduate Wins International Jewelry CompetitionCreekview High School graduate Lam Nguyen won first place for Emerging Artists at Saul Bell Design Awards, an international jewelry competition. Creekview graduates Lorena Lugo and Jimmy Nguyen were also finalists in the 2011 Saul Bell Design Award Emerging Artist competition. Three of the five finalists in this international competition were from Creekview.

C-FB Students Compete at National Debate TournamentCreekview Junior Kevin King placed fourth in Original Oratory at the National Forensic League National Competition. Newman Smith Junior, Tanya Rajan placed sixth in Commentary Speaking at the national competition. King and Rajan were the only finalists from Texas in their categories. Junior Diana Pop also placed 40th nationwide in Commentary Speaking. Congrats to all three students!

The iPad will be used as an engaging tool to teach and reinforce learning in math, language arts, science and social studies through specialized apps aligned to the district’s curriculum.

Creekview Student Wins First Place in Congressional Art CompetitionCreekview student Trang Tran was awarded first place in the 11th Annual Congressional Art Contest representing the 24th district of Texas. Congressman Kenny Marchant made the presentation. Trang’s drawing will be displayed for one year in Capitol tunnel connecting the U.S. Congress and the Congressional offices.

Furneaux Elementary fourth graders travel to Austin with Education in Action’s “Proud to be Texan” program Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD fourth grade teachers at Furneaux Elementary took their classrooms on the road to Austin with Education in Action’s “Proud to be Texan” experiential learning day program, April 15, 2011. Students visited the Bob Bullock Texas State History Museum and the Texas State Capitol and experienced what they are learning in fourth grade Texas History.
