How I landed up here (@capricho_ruch)

I'm a visual storyteller who makes documentary films, trains & facilitates community media projects and works with companies that create, curate & publish online video content. Here is "my story". I hope one day I'll be able to be a part of yours.

  1. Social Media: Love me, Loves me not, Loves me, Loves me not...

  4. I agree, why not curate your own story as a  digital-social-media-scroll-down visual map?
  5. I like symbols when I map; they are my personal road signs.
  6. As one of these infamous culture-vulturing nomads, I think home should not be...
  7. just one dot on one map!!
  8. So in 2008, I decided to set up my own "dot" on the internet - my production company & a website to represent it.
  9. Why Third Kulture?  ---> "Third Culture Kid" - a culture that is more than simply a blend of home and host cultures....Basically, in a nutshell, a kid like me - born and raised in Indonesia by Indian parents, moved to Singapore in my teens & attended International schools up until I was 18 and moved to the U.S. for undergrad.

    Yep, one of those kids.

  10. I once worked with kids...little kids that is! I was a school teacher in a local elementary school in Ubud, Bali (Suta Dharma School)
  11. And over the years, I kept on with the journey..finding my way to Kazakhstan.
I was a Director/Camera person on a documentary shoot about the life of a young little subject (Zhanna, age 5) for
    The Global Lives Project
  12. Zhanna (in pink), our subject & her family who hosted us. The crew & our amazing translator (in between the boys) Assel.
It didn't take very long for me to realize that I love family, I love community, and I love the noise & chaos that comes with.
  13. So I moved in 2006 and found my way to Mumbai, India - home to both my parents... and it didn't take very long to embrace the madness & make my home.
  14. Soon enough, I found myself caught up in the glitzy Bollywood industry, however, I was more interested in the stories behind-the-scenes... with a small shoe-string budget & 2 people crew, seamlessly we shot and shot and shot...unfolding stories:
