Twitter: Remembering Roger Faulkner, UNIX Legend

Roger Faulkner, UNIX engineer since 1976, SunOS/Solaris developer since 1990, creator of /procfs, passed away this past weekend.

  2. There was a mistake - should've said UNIX since 1976. He worked on so many things. Hard to get right in 140 characters.
  3. As an aside, for many years, engineers used "bfu" to quickly put the latest kernel on an already installed system. The official name was "blindingly fast update", but everyone knew it was really "Bonwick Faulkner Update".... (thanks for the HOURS and HOURS you saved me while doing kernel work!)
