Newt takes on mainstream media. And Twitter takes the bait.
CNN’s John King opened Thursday’s GOP debate with a question for Newt Gingrich about his ex-wife’s recent claims that he requested an “open” marriage. The former House speaker railed against “destructive, vicious, negative nature of much of the news media.” Here's how Twitter responded:
- Some observers – notably those in the media who might guide coverage of the debate – worried that Gingrich's flashy lashing out at King would overshadow the meat of the policy debate that followed:
