I woke up Monday morning and saw a new position posted to Twitter's job site for a Manager, TV Content. The position is exactly what I've been looking for, a combination of my 7 years development and TV production experience with my personal interest in all things internet and social. Knowing such a high profile position would get many applicants, I applied immediately through Twitter's jobvite application and fired off this Tweet.
Both previous collegues from Current TV and original members of the @TwitterMedia team, @robinsloan "favorited" it and @ChloeS replied.
As I laid in bed that night, I realized that while I was happy with the initial response my Tweet had garnered, and knew I would be in the mix, I needed to think of a way to stand out.
Woke up Wednesday morning with an idea. I reached out to a few colleagues and friends asking for a #140CharacterReference to make sure they #HireBen. I was happy with the results...
