Deptford Lounge first impressions
We dropped into Deptford Lounge on its first Sunday of opening, with high hopes of it being a nice place to hang out and meet friends in the kind of spirit of our much-used Southbank Centre membership, but rather closer to home. We had a look around, and a tour, and weren't disappointed.
- When we got up this morning, we hadn't been planning a visit to Deptford. But then I saw Deptford Dame's review of the Deptford Lounge, which opened this week...
- The review mentioned tours at 2pm on Sundays, so we hurriedly got ready to go out, and dashed up to Deptford.
- I asked about this, later, on the tour. They're not really sure why the signs ended up saying that, but in reality anyone can use any computer!
- My wife got a picture of the exciting wall behind me that I hadn't noticed - whoops:
- If you fancy a tour yourself, here are the times:
- (If she is, she either hasn't tweeted about the tour, or has protected tweets. I'd guess the latter, because really, who wouldn't tweet about this?! ;) )
- They're responsive, too - the Deptford Lounge Twitter account replied to my hand-drier review:
- Deptford Lounge feels like something which could really complete the picture of Deptford as an exciting place to hang out and enjoy culture and other unique, quirky activities, including some of the unusual local food outlets, as my subsequent tweets suggest...
