The World Student Environmental Network's Global Summit 2016
In 2008, the first annual World Student Environmental Summit was held in Kyoto, Japan. In the summer of 2016 the WSEN's Global Summit was jointly hosted between two universities for the first time. Over 100 student delegates and volunteers gathered to work for #SustainabilityTogether.
- On July 23rd many delegates from the 34 different countries began to arrive in the UK.
- The majority of the delegates arrived on July 24th, which meant the organisers and volunteers were in full swing! But some of the early arrivals also got to explore Brighton before the official welcome.
- Monday, July 25th kicked off with a keynote from Dr Andrea Cornwall, but not before a vegan breakfast from Brighton's Real Junk Food Project. This was followed by delegate presentations about sustainability at their universities, a panel about international student organisations, and careers workshops. The day ended with a film and Q&A with the director.
