  8. Thank very much for participating! I urge clinicians to go to continuing ed courses on aphasia treatment and keep up w reading. #aphasiachat
  9. @platypus58 You can train people w aphasia to use communicative representational gestures. #aphasiachat
  10. @HelmEstabrooks thank you for tweeting with us! Please continue t Writing articles updating on Gabby's speech progress. #aphasiachat
  11. @platypus58 Aphasia's an acquired language disorder. ASL is a language. Ppl who use ASL can become aphasic as ppl who speak do. #aphasiachat
  12. @HelmEstabrooks @magsterj1988 While all treatment plns are different. Perhaps u can give a couple of examples? #aphasiachat
  13. @magsterj1988 Can't say I have any typical treatment plan. Depends on person with aphasia & their needs & then choose treatment #aphasiachat
  14. aggrammatism therapy typically is more effective if started when? early? or after word finding and syntax treatment? #aphasiachat
  15. @blindingblue Our 1st cases were months post onset & recovered ability to communicate verbally. All treatment should generalize #aphasiachat
  16. @ErinMantz At least this should be the case unless the person has another neurological event #aphasiachat
  17. @ErinMantz Studies show if person is fully involved in life activities, socially stimulated, communication continues improving #aphasiachat
  18. @HelmEstabrooks what is a typical treatment plan for treating agrammatism for your clients? #aphasiachat
  19. @JoanSanton It really depends on the patient. Can't make a general statment on this one. #aphasiachat
  20. @magsterj1988 One important criterion is that they produce at least some real (accurate) words when singing familiar songs. #aphasiachat
  21. re: aggramaticism, which are most difficult to remediate: pronouns, prepositions, aux verbs or is it individual? #aphasiachat
  22. @magsterj1988 If you have person who meets candidacy criteria, response is typically good. If not, can't expect good response. #aphasiachat
