- Yesterday, on the first day of Eid al-Adha, forces loyal President Bashar al-Assad opened fire at protesters, killing at least 22 people and prompting the Arab League to call an emergency meeting to discuss the government’s failure to halt the bloodshed, Bloomberg reported.
