I was in Brazil last week and had the pleasure of participating in a teach-in at Occupy São Paulo, a vibrant camp set up last week in the heart of the old down town. There are now under threat, please see below for details and spread the word.

The occupation movement's greatest challenge will be overcoming the deep distrust of white liberals by the poor and the working class, especially people of color. Marginalized people of color have been organizing, protesting and suffering for years with little help or even acknowledgment from the white liberal class.

Elizabeth Warren is running for office in the most high-profile race in the country not involving Barack Obama. It's a position that calls for some tact. So what does she think about the Occupy Wall Street protests that are roiling the country? "I created much of the intellectual foundation for what they do," she says.

Bunch's new e-book, “October 1, 2011: The Battle of the Brooklyn Bridge,” details the events leading up to, during and after the 700 arrests of Occupy protesters by the NYPD. Bunch was motivated to document the encounter because he believes that the Brooklyn Bridge arrests were "a major screw-up by the NYPD" that "electrified" the nation and spurred groups and events worldwide.
