YTH Live 2017: The Youth, Tech, and Health Conference

A recap of everything that happened at #YTHLive 2017, including our YTH Live 2017 Design Challenge, technology innovations for global health, our Mental Health Track, the infamous selfie booth, youth leaders, and more.

  1. Opening Plenary

  2. We started this year's conference with our AMAZE-ing opening plenary, where we discussed how young people are using digital technology for sexual and reproductive health and rights. We first talked about the landscape of youth health online with our TECHsex 2017 report and Answer's review of 19 sexual and reproductive health apps, “Reaching Teens Where They Are." We then moved the discussion to YouTube and chatted with creators about how to use video to disseminate sexuality education, which featured the videos from our "AMAZE" campaign.
  3. Mental Health

  4. This year, we had our first Mental Health Track at YTH Live, sponsored by Each Mind Matters and Partners for Strong Minds, where attendees learned how programming can be used to elevate emotional wellness, how they can work to end stigma around mental health, and the unique challenges youth with mental illnesses face.
  5. Youth Voice

  6. At YTH, we not only work alongside young people but include them into every facet of our work, including the conference. Here are some of the amazing youth who were front and center at YTH Live 2017.
