  5. There is more to Hluhluwe Forest than its natural beauty, it has the chops to back it up. It is one of SA's most remarkable sand forests, characterised by its sandy soils. There is a fascinating theory behind the existence of the forest that dates back some 80 000 years ago, that it originated on ancient dune deposits along the orginal coastal seaboard of Zululand's eastern coast.

  8. Rocktail Beach Camp is set back in and shaded by the sanctuary of the lush Maputaland Coastal Forest covering the ancient dunes that make up the edge of South Africa's KwaZulu-Natal coast.
  9. Each of its 17 rooms has an en-suite bathroom and an open-feel indoor shower. The main area boasts a central dining room, bar and lounge with large wrap-around veranda, a raised viewing deck, wine cellar, large pool, curio shop and children's playroom.
