2012 NHL trade deadline

The Tampa Bay Lightning was active in the days leading up to the trade deadline, but that doesn't mean GM Steve Yzerman is done dealing. Follow along throughout deadline day as we keep you up to speed on the biggest developments from the Lightning and around the league.

  1. Lightning deals that preceded deadline day ...

  2. Dominic Moore during warm-ups on 2/14/12. Dom, wish you & Katie all the best in San Jose. #GreatCouple #TBLightning t.co/s1hnbSn0
  3. Yzerman on Kubina: Never submitted the list, just agreed to go to the Flyers.
  4. Yzerman also said he will wait and see how the team performs before the deadline. He's not going to be a buyer, per se, but may keep assets
  5. Two picks and a prospect is pretty good. Not going to re-sign him anyway RT @johnpgatta: does it seem TB got nothing for Kubina?
  6. Steve Downie traded to Colorado. Why? Easy: Avs were perilously close to not making the Players' Emergency Assistance Fund donation floor.
  7. Three-way trade. You don't see that every day in this league anymore. TB building up its picks base.
  8. Dear Tampa Bay Lightning, I was a little sad when you traded Dominic Moore, pretty upset when you traded Pavel Kubina but now Steve Downie? Totally devastated about that. Get ready for some angry fans :)
  9. Tampa now has 2 first-rounders, 3 second-round rounders, and another second-rounder in either '12 or '13 at Florida's option (Kubina)
  10. Lots of picks for Tampa to try for a goalie come the off-season, keep that in mind...
  11. best of luck to you in Colorado Steve Downie. Not sure who is going to set up Stamkos for his next 20 goals this year.
  12. Lightning's Stamkos on trade of best-friend Downie: "Emotions are high right now but you have to find a way to refocus. It's tough."
  13. More Stamkos: "We had to lose not only Downs but Mooresey and Kuby because ultimately we didn't start the year the way we wanted to."
  14. Aaaand the Lightning make their third trade in a week and trade one of my favorite players ever out west.. good luck in Colorado Steve Downie
  15. Some other pre-deadline deals from around the league ...
